TypeStatus for Mac

After collecting dust on my hard drive for over a year, TypeStatus for Mac has finally entered the public beta stage. If you haven’t already heard of it, TypeStatus started as an iOS jailbreak tweak that swaps out the status bar with the name of the person who is typing an iMessage to you, or has read an iMessage you sent. Now, you can experience it on your Mac.

TypeStatus for Mac is a simple addition to your OS X menu bar that displays typing and read receipt notifications, much like the iOS version. TypeStatus also has built-in support for the awesome Obsidian Menu Bar tweak. This should work on OS X 10.8 and 10.9, however we’ve only tested it on 10.9.

Keep in mind that this is a very early beta; a lot needs to be done to bring TypeStatus for Mac’s features on par with the ones in its iOS version. If you notice any bugs or have any feedback, you can write a comment below or email [email protected]. Enjoy!
